At 12:30 am on Thursday 17th July a mare called “Graceland” (owned by Sue Sidebottom and Javier Clervera) gave birth called “Babolna”, sired by “Dantist”. She was two weeks premature, but seemed a feisty and strong little girl from the start.

Although born on St. Swithin’s day she seems to have brought her own weather, bright and sunny to all those who see her. There was rain on that night, but was it before or after midnight, as the saying goes:-

'St. Swithin's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St. Swithin's day if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain nae mair.'

dost = does
thou = you
nae mair = no more.

All pictures will be corrected for Colour, Contrast, Brightness, Sharpness and Cropped where necessary.
