Saturday 20th August, Banham Zoo
Large Cats
The Disabled Photographers Society organised a day out at Banham Zoo in Norfolk, the weather was very kind and the light allowed the members to take some excellent shots of the animals and birds on display.
One of the highlights of the day was the Birds of Prey Flying Demonstration. Although the bigger cats were very sedentary for most of the day, due largely to the heat, they did become active enough to photograph later in the afternoon.
On of the challenges of photographing animals in captivity is the wire cages and the glass viewing windows. In some cases the wire spoilt what would otherwise been nice images (although I have still included many), and similarly it was sometimes difficult to eliminate the reflections from the glass.
