On Saturday 22nd May, Tim and Ellen Jolly held an open day at their farm. The Asparagus harvest is well under way, and visitors were shown the fields and the packing plant, also on offer was refreshments including cooked asparagus, which was yummy.
In the photos you can see Tim showing visitors a field which was planted only a month ago, and won’t be harvested until the third year. Then he is showing a mature plant and root system in a field currently being harvested.
The photo of Tim and his wife Ellen was taken in their garden during the refreshment break, and the following photos were taken in the processing plant.
All the proceeds of the day were given to St. Mary's Church in Thetford.
